Hey hey! When I woke up at 7 AM this morning the room was still pitch black and it was pouring rain outside. I could have stayed in bed under the covers snuggling with my boyfriend and cat all day long. Instead, Anthony and I forced ourselves out of bed and headed to work in the rain. It seemed pretty tragic at the time but the sun is starting to peek through the clouds and Chicago has a high of 66 degrees today. Looks like the day is starting to look up :)

Springspiration... does that work? I don't know. I do however know that I could not be more tired of this Chicago winter. It's March! Over it. I've been spending probably too much time pinning spring style photos and am SO INSPIRED. This is going to be me all spring... it's decided.
The sunglasses, the top knot, the big black bow and the crochet details... it's all so perfect.

I'm a little behind! With Thursday being Valentine's Day and Friday just being a typical busy day I had to put the blog on the back burner to make sure I was giving enough attention to Anthony and my friends.
Speaking of Valentine's Day, Anthony and I had our best one yet. When I got home from work there was champagne, pink roses and chocolates waiting for me, so sweet. We drank champagne, got all fancy and headed to our dinner reservations at Cafe Ba-Ba Reeba. If you've never been there it is UH-MAZING, some of the best tapas and sangria I've ever had in my life. A pitcher and a ton of small plates later we drove back to our apartment to exchange gifts. We both TOTALLY suprised each other this year. I got Anthony a tie clip with his initials engraved on the front and 'You & Me' on the back, which he loved. I was totally spoiled this year with the new Kate Spade Things We Love book, a new bottle of my favorite perfume, Marc Jacobs Lola, and a rose gold with diamonds and pink sapphires ring (eeekk!) It's so beautiful and was all SO SWEET. He knows me really well :)

Last Friday Anthony, my friend Jo and I went to the opening of DON'T FRET: Love in the Time of Online Dating at Johalla Projects Gallery in West Town. Before I get into Don't Fret and his art, let's talk about this gallery. Do you guys watch Girls? In the show it seems like every party they go to is in some amazing warehouse space. That is the best way for me to describe the Johalla Gallery: an amazing warehouse space. This was by far one of the coolest places I have ever been to in Chicago. There's no signage outside besides the address and you would have no idea it was anything more than a warehouse if you were just driving by. Once inside you walk down long hallways and up rickety metal stairs until you find yourself following the groups of people into one of the warehouse's many rooms. Coolest. Place. Ever.
Now to the art. Don't Fret describes himself as 'A human from Chicago' and keeps his identity a secret. Cool right? The pieces are always charming, witty and incredibly sarcastic. I found myself legit LOLing so many times. The newest collection Love in the Time of Online Dating shares all of those characteristics and more. This is how this collection as been described: "His latest show, Love in the Time of Online Dating, will utilize his visual rhetoric and colorful characters to help create new landscapes that pointedly communicates the sometimes obnoxiously stereotypical goings on of everyday city life."
